While traditional Christmas gift wrapping paper is always a staple, people are taking a more modern approach to gift wrap these days. Whether it’s plaid or natural kraft paper, we’ve got you covered. Here are some ways you can use these trendy patterns and materials this holiday season.

Plaid Gift Wrap:

Plaid isn’t just for lumberjacks anymore! It’s a hot pattern for this holiday season. You can incorporate plaid to your gift wrapping style in several ways:

Wrap with all plaid gift wrap. This looks cute no matter if you use the same pattern or different patterns to stack together. Try chalkboard gift tags to pair with the plaid wrapping paper too. The black and white chalkboard gift tags will make a nice contrast to the colorful plaid gift wrapping paper.

You may be thinking – kraft paper? How is that Christmas-y? Well, it’s not. Not by itself anyways. Let’s just say it needs a little help with the right ribbon and embellishments. Check out some of the ways kraft paper is being used as Christmas gift wrap.

You can also add ornaments, pine, metallic sprays, or other embellishments to make your gift pop. Kraft paper may be simple and subtle, but becomes a game-changer when paired with the right embellishment.

Washi tape is a quick and easy way to to spruce up kraft gift wrap. It’s perfect for wrap on-the-go or for those who want an alternative to ribbon and bow embellishments.

Lastly, you can use stencils, stamps, and paint to make kraft paper more festive. Use wooden dowels, the end of a pencil, chopsticks, or other objects with a round base to create white dots like you see above. Tie off with twine for a modern finishing touch to your wrap!
