Tuxedo Gift Bag – What You’ll Need

- Bright Colored Matte Shopping Bags – Black (8 x 4-3/4 x 10-1/4)
- Corrugated Paper Sheets – White
- Pre-Tied Satin Bows with Wire Ties – Black
- Velvet Ribbon – Black (3/8″ x 25YD)
- Fabric Petal Pull Bow – White
- Rhinestones
- High & Low Temperature Glue Guns
- Elmer’s Glue
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
How to DIY a Tuxedo Gift Bag for Groomsmen
Create the Tuxedo Shirt:
- Take a sheet of corrugated paper and fold it in half. Using a ruler and pencil, mark from the fold, two inches across and six inches down. Draw a line from mark to mark to create a half triangle shape, which will serve as the dress shirt of the tuxedo.
- Dot Elmer’s glue around the edge of the triangle and place it at the very top center of the bag.
Make the Pocket Square:
- Cut the fabric petal pull bow into a length of six petals. Pull the strings on each side of the bow and tie them in a knot tightly to form a flower shape. Fold the flower in half and secure it with the glue gun to the bag, just to the right of the tuxedo shirt. Glue down the petals as needed.
Add the Pocket Square Base:
- Cut three inches of velvet ribbon. Fold over each side of the ribbon about 1/4 of an inch, securing it with the glue gun to create a black bar. Glue this bar to the bottom edge of the petals.
Attach the Bow and Rhinestones:
- Attach the pre-tied bow to the very top center of the tuxedo shirt with the glue gun. Cut the tails to the desired length. Glue rhinestones down the center of the tuxedo shirt to resemble buttons.
Shirt & Suspenders Gift Bag – What You’ll Need
- Plain White Kraft Shopping Bags (8 x 4-3/4 x 10-1/4)
- Corrugated Paper Sheets – White
- Saddle Stitch Ribbon – Black (1-1/2″ x 25YD)
- Embossed Velour Wired Ribbon (2-1/2″ x 10YD)
- Rhinestones
- High & Low Temperature Glue Guns
- Elmer’s Glue
- Scissors
- Ruler
- Pencil
How to DIY a Shirt & Suspenders Gift Bag for Groomsmen
Create the Shirt Collar:
- Cut a strip of corrugated paper measuring 1 1/4 inches in width by 6 inches in length. This will serve as the collar of the shirt. Mark the bottom center of the collar with a pencil. Fold both the top left and right corners of the collar to meet at the center mark.
Make the Suspenders:
- Cut two strips of the Saddle Stitch ribbon measuring 10 1/2 to 11 inches in length.
Create the Tie:
- Cut a strip of the embossed velour ribbon measuring six inches in length.
Guide for Suspenders Placement:
- Using a ruler and pencil, mark half an inch from the edge on both sides of the bag (top and bottom) to serve as a guide for suspender placement.
Attach the Suspenders:
- Fold down one end of each suspender about 1/4 of an inch and secure with the glue gun. Using the guide from the previous step, adhere each suspender to the bag, dotting glue on the back and down the sides of the ribbon. Press and smooth into place.
Attach the Collar:
- Use Elmer’s glue on the back of the collar and adhere it to the very top center of the bag.
Make and Attach the Tie:
- To make the tie, take the six-inch strip of embossed ribbon. Using the back side, dot both bottom corners with the glue gun. Fold both corners in to make a “V” for the tip of the tie. At the top of the tie, dot glue about two inches down each side of the ribbon, folding both sides in to make the top corners meet. Adhere the tie under the collar and secure the tip of the tie to the center of the bag.
Finish with a Rhinestone:
- Glue a single rhinestone to the center of the collar to complete the look.
With these easy steps, you can create elegant and unique groomsmen gift bags that add a personal touch to your wedding.
