5 Creative Packaging Ideas to Make Your Valentine Gifts Stand Out

Thinking of taking a breather from the holiday hubbub? Think again! We know you want to catch your breath, but now’s the perfect time to plan your business’s Valentine’s Day packaging.
While Christmas tends to get people into a crafty, homemade mood, you’ll do well to package your Valentine products now so it’s a ready-to-go gift. Set your merchandise apart with some of our creative packaging ideas this season:

1. Jewelry

Whether you’re selling classic diamond engagement rings or handcrafted necklaces, you’re sure to see an increase in foot traffic as Valentine’s Day approaches. Be ready with some cute gift boxes to hold your wares. We love the pastel colors and romantic rosette on our Rose Bow Boxes, and they come ready to use for total convenience. Kraft Jewelry Boxes are easy to stamp or embellish with your brand, and they come with cotton fill to protect the gift inside. To keep your jewelry safe, add some foam or batting to a Polka Dot Heart Box

2. Flowers

If there’s one day of the year to say it with flowers, it’s Valentine’s Day! Be ready to upgrade your bouquet packaging to make an extra splash on the big day. Elevate your standard cellophane bouquet wrap with deco mesh in luxurious metallics. For a rustic look, use tulle or lace fabric instead. Don’t forget to finish with a nice, wide ribbon – these extra touches will enhance your Valentine creations for extra impact.

3. Baked Goods

Bakers and confectioners should also plan ahead for a busy Valentine’s Day season. Heart Shaped Tin Cans are a sturdy way to make your packaging a lasting gift long after the delights inside have been consumed. If you regularly package items using white cardboard or Kraft paper, consider going pink for Valentine’s Day to make your cakes gift items pop. Gable Boxes and Two-Piece Gift Boxes with a ribbon are easy to prepare ahead of time and fill as needed, and we have them in festive colors and cute polka dots for some added Valentine’s fun!

4. Gift Baskets

Whether you’re a crafter, a baker or a candlestick maker, Valentine’s gift baskets are the perfect way to showcase your products and upsell your clientele – and designing can be a lot of fun! Traditional woven baskets are always a good choice, and you can create a lush bed of tulle or tissue paper to add color and padding. But don’t forget that you can also make “baskets” for gifts out of anything. We’re partial to bentwood boxes and steel pails. Stock up on cellophane to tie it all together ahead of time.

5. Clothing and Linens

For soft goods, traditional gift boxes with a removable lid are easy to prepare ahead of time, so all you’ll need to do at the point of sale is neatly fold the item and close the box. You can embellish the lids ahead of time any way you like or simply choose Deluxe Matte Finish Boxes that come already decorated. For a bit of whimsy, we like to package socks, scarves, and PJs in fabric gift bags – there are even heart-shaped ones that are perfect for Valentine’s Day!

No matter what your business is best at, there’s always a way to display your items with some stylish packaging. This Valentine’s Day, dress up your wares for extra romance and watch them fly off the shelves!
