Tulle flowers are great for accessorizing almost anything – clothes, headbands, shoes, hair clips, and much more. There are a number of different ways to make tulle flowers. You can layer the tulle pieces and top it off with a button or jewel piece in the middle, make pom pom flowers, or fold the tulle into layered squares and cut out flower shapes. The list goes on and on. The following is a tutorial on one of the ways you can make your own tulle flowers. Use these to accessorize almost anything in your closet or hot glue it to an alligator clip for a beautiful, one-of-a-kind hair clip. Supplies
- Tulle
- Scissors
- Needle and thread
- Medium to large size button
- Lighter
Instructions
- Cut out tulle circles in varying sizes. The circles don’t have to be perfect. In fact, imperfection is actually a good thing in this case, since flower petals differ in size and shape.
- Take the lighter and run it along the edges of the circles so that it seals the edges. Make sure not to hold the lighter too long against the tulle; it can catch on fire quickly.
- Layer each of the tulle circles on top of each other so that it resembles a flower.
- Place the button in the middle of the circles and hand-sew it to the tulle.
- Beginning with the top layer, take each of the petals and bend them upwards to create a beautiful tulle flower.
