Simple 1 Minute Craft: Adorable Embellished Bookmarks

simple crafts

There’s no better way to escape Coronavirus worries than within a well-written book of fiction. Make sure you don’t lose your spot while reading with your own embellished bookmark. These bookmarks are easy to make and require only a few supplies.

What You’ll Need:

How To Make:

1.) First, pick three (or more!) of your favorite washi tape colors and patterns.

2.) Then, making sure the sticky adhesive side is downward, apply a gentle pressure to the surface. This will ensure your tape will stick.

3.) Finally, make sure your bookmark has a clean finish by cutting off any excess washi tape from the edge.

FYI: Washi tape is an incredibly versatile tool to have in your craft box! For more fun ways you can use it, check out our post on 10 Things You Can Do With Washi Tape!

5 Minute Craft: Tassel Keychain

Looking for a fun and easy way to brighten the day and accessorize? Teach your kids how to make a cute keychain using narrow ribbon scraps, gift tags, and keychain clips. Here’s how to do it.

What You’ll Need

How To Make:

1.) First, create your tassel ends. Simply take the edge of your ribbon and thread it through the eye of your keychain clip. Repeat with each strip of narrow fabric ribbon.

2.) After your tassel ends have been created, secure them using a thin thread. To achieve the look and shape of a classic tassel, we used the thin thread that came with our gift tags, cinched the tassel ends together towards the top of the keychain, and tightly wrapped our gift tag thread around the tassels.

3.) Finally, we personalized and embellished our tag with washi tape!

10 Minute Craft: Pretty Straw Necklaces

If you’re looking for a simple craft to keep the little ones busy, try making some pretty straw jewelry pieces!

What You’ll Need

How To Make

1.) First, make your paper straw beads. In our experience, the shorter the beads, the easier it is for small hands to handle and thread ribbon through. So, using your scissors, cut 1” pieces from your paper straws.

2.) After your beads are created, take one end of your narrow fabric ribbon and thread it through the body of your paper beads. Repeat with each bead until satisfied with the overall look of your necklace.

3.) Once finished, tie the ends of your ribbon together to secure and wear!
