About Doung

What do you do at Paper Mart? I am the Network Administrator.

How long have you worked here? 14 years.

Tell us what a typical day at work for you entails. Usually, I monitor and address any data center alerts and helpdesk requests. I also work on data center projects.

What do you like best about working at Paper Mart? I like to get up from my desk and walk around the building to help others. It makes the day go faster. I enjoy giving users upgraded computers to help them become more productive.

What’s your favorite Paper Mart memory? My favorite Paper Mart memory was when we would order the parts for new computers and assemble them in the office. Now, we order them pre-built from the factory.

Before Paper Mart, what was the most unusual/interesting job you had? I used to stand 8 hours a day in a warehouse repairing desktop and laptop computers that failed off the assembly line.

Before that, I was in college, and in the Army Reserve. My time in the military was the most interesting. I once rode on a Black Hawk to a field training exercise at Camp Pendleton.

Apart from your work at Paper Mart, what are some of your side projects or hobbies? I like to go on road trips to hike at the national parks. On a typical day after work, I crawl into my garage gym and then watch geopolitics, macroeconomics, and tech news on YouTube for investing. If there’s time, I end the day by playing PC games.

If you had to eat one type of food for the rest of your life, what would it be? I would choose Vietnamese banh mi! But, I’d only eat it if I’m having it with iced coffee in Saigon, while sitting on the side of the road and watching all the people on their motorbikes drive by. That’s actually my retirement dream!

Would you rather go back in time or in the future? Why? Back in time. I bought NVDA stock in 2016 and sold it way too early two years later. It would’ve been life-changing if I still owned it!

Describe what you were like at age 10. Loving, wild, careless, and happy.

What was the first concert you attended? A Rammstein concert in Las Vegas.

What’s your all-time favorite TV show? The Simpsons from the 90s. They’re still making episodes, but I haven’t watched any newer ones since college.

What is your favorite Paper Mart product and why do you love it? The brown paper bags! They remind me of the hand puppets I made out of them in school.
