Cardboard Boxes and Halloween
Cardboard boxes are so versatile and can be used for so many different purposes all year round that it’s actually quite scary! Not only are they very affordable, in wide abundance and, of course, easy on the environment, but they’re also fun to play around with. This makes them ideal as a staple during Halloween, and you don’t even have to be a child or a teen (just one at heart!) to play around with them. So if you are on the hunt for some Halloween decorating ideas, then look absolutely no further than our cardboard boxes.
Make Tombstones From Cardboard Boxes
Many people know that cardboard boxes are exceptionally versatile, but few know just how versatile until the celebration of Halloween finally rolls around! Halloween is a time when your creativity should really shine, because it will make the occasion a whole lot more fun. Using cardboard boxes, you can make tombstones (or at least copy their shapes, more or less) by filling out the empty boxes with a material as simple as foam. That will give these boxes shape and structure, and then you’re free to paint and decorate the outside of your boxes so that they match what a tombstone generally looks like!
Make Popcorn Bags From Cardboard Boxes
Again, keeping it simple is where it’s at when it comes to using cardboard boxes for smart and appealing Halloween decorations. Boxes of this type can easily be converted into giant popcorn bags that can be placed around your house for Halloween. To start, just coat the top of the cardboard box with some adhesive. Then, put some Styrofoam packing peanuts on top, and keep adding to them until you get what resembles a mound of popcorn. On the sides of the box, you can create the traditional, red stripes of movie popcorn bags by applying red gaffer type every two inches around the box.
Make Fuzzy Dice From Cardboard Boxes
You can also make giant, fuzzy dice from boxes of this type. It is unbelievably easy. Take your empty box and cover all of its surface area in white plush fabric that you can easily purchase at fabric and crafts stores all over the place. Use some spray adhesive to make sure that this white plush fabric stays in place. All that’s left for you to do is to simply attach some plush, black cutout fabric circles to the side of your box. You can easily attach them via double-sided carpet tape that you can easily get at different craft stores.
So now that you know what you can do with cardboard boxes when Halloween rolls around, you won’t be so quick to just throw them away the next time! Boxes of this nature are a great way to decorate in a cheap, fun and even environmentally friendly way. Thanks to these wildly imaginative and inventive decorating ideas, your Halloween can be a lot more interesting, and it is all thanks to the power of cardboard.
