How to make a Tulle Canopy

Want to make a bed canopy on a budget?

Follow our instructions below to make a beautiful bed canopy from tulle fabric!

Supplies

Measure how wide you want the canopy to be. You can make it as wide as your bed or smaller. Cut a piece of wire that is this length.
Measure how deep you want the canopy to be. This is a measurement how far you want the canopy to come out from the headboard towards the foot of the bed. Cut a piece of wire that is this length.
To connect the two wires together, clamp down on the end of one wire until it turns into a hook. Then hook it onto the second wire and clamp down tightly to link them together.
Reinforce with hot glue.
Use the method described on step 3 to create a 3D form of your canopy. Keep adding wire until it looks like a turtle shell.
Reinforce each of the connections with floral wire.
Staple the muslin fabric to the wall where your canopy will go.
Place the canopy onto the wall using brackets.
Staple the frame to the wall to reinforce it again.
Take the muslin fabric and pull it over the top and cover the whole frame with it. Staple the fabric to the wall as needed.
Hang tulle over the top of the fabric covered frame.
Decorate it anyway you want it with ribbons and trims after you have the basic covering down.
