This week on December 18th, Paper Mart’s marketing team was invited to participate in a festive holiday craft at the Old Towne Boys & Girls Club. Our team was excited to come back to help after our last visit in August where we joined the kids to create colorful Olympic torches. For this holiday craft, each kid was able to make a special Christmas box of “kisses” for their loved ones. Before starting any craft, they needed amazing craft supplies! Paper Mart was happy to supply plenty of metallic takeout boxes, deco mesh tubing, and paper doilies for this craft.
A Holiday Box of “Kisses”
First, the kids were asked to cut out and make a snowman’s face. This would decorate one side of the takeout box to give the gift a nice winter theme. Every kid used their creativity to make each snowman unique. Some had big top hats, while others had tiny ones. Others gave their snowmen huge smiles and even winking eyes.
Paper Mart team members passed out colorful deco mesh tubing for the kids to tie on their box. Paper doilies were also given out as the background to the notes that each kid would write to their parents. At the same time, Hershey’s chocolate kisses were poured into each of the takeout boxes. Both the Paper Mart team and Old Towne Boys & Girls Club staff had to remind the kids not to gobble up all the candies since those were the “kisses” they would be gifting to their parents.
When all the notes were done, they folded it and placed them into their gift box. The boxes were then closed and each kid was asked to write the name of the recipient of their gift. Our team was so happy to be working with the Boys & Girls Club staff again and craft with these amazing kids. It was great to see how excited they all were to give their custom holiday box of kisses to their parents!
